UFC releases breakdown of Reebok sponsorship numbers

As was expected, UFC veterans will fill their pockets with Reebok money this summer.

With the promotion's exclusive sponsorship deal with the apparel giant set to officially roll out in July, UFC chairman and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta, UFC president Dana White and UFC COO Lawrence Epstein released a detailed breakdown of the tiered payment system during a conference call Wednesday morning.

MMAjunkie.com's Brent Brookhouse provides the details:

Fighters with 1 to 5 bouts will receive $2,500 per fight; 6 to 10 bouts get $5,000; 11 to 15 bouts get $10,000; 16 to 20 bouts get $15,000; and 21 bouts and above get $20,000.

Additionally, title challengers will receive $30,000, and champions will receive $40,000.

"All of the revenue we’re receiving from Reebok is being distributed to the fighters," Fertitta told MMAjunkie during the call. "The only revenue not included will be used to cover direct operating costs for this program."

When the controversial deal was first announced in late 2014, the UFC planned to pay fighters according to their position within the organization's official rankings. That plan was later changed to reward tenure rather than ranking.
