Rangers' Martin St. Louis plans to build on latest scoreless outing

For the first time these playoffs, the New York Rangers are flirting with disaster.

And yet, Martin St. Louis hasn't felt better.

St. Louis, stuck on two assists through eight postseason games, was oozing inspiration following an invested effort in the Rangers' 2-1 defeat to the Washington Capitals in Game 3.

"You know what, though?" St. Louis told the New York Post. "I had the puck a lot and I played the game I wanted to. I felt good. It just didn't happen for me.

"Personally, it was one of my better games in a long time. I'm coming out of this game with confidence going into the next one. I'm going to build off this game."

St. Louis was denied on three occasions by the unflappable Braden Holtby, also landing a hit and recording a blocked shot.

He, along with fellow snake-bitten star Rick Nash, will have to find the offense to jump-start the stagnant Rangers, who were one of just three teams to average more than three goals per contest in the regular season.
