The Washington Redskins released wide receiver Jerry Rice Jr. on Monday.
Rice Jr. did not record a catch during his tenure with the club. The 5-foot-11 wide receiver signed with the Redskins in June 2014 but tore his labrum prior to the start of the season.
The 23-year-old is the son of San Francisco 49ers legend Jerry Rice. The elder Rice was named the greatest player of all time by NFL Network and is the career leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
Washington elected to release 10 others players on Monday along with Rice Jr.
