Rams trade Zac Stacy to Jets for 7th round pick
The St. Louis Rams have traded running back Zac Stacy to the New York Jets in exchange for a seventh-round pick.
The deal was first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Stacy made a very public request to be traded or released from the Rams after they selected running back Todd Gurley out of Georgia with the 10th overall selection.
A fifth-round selection in 2013, Stacy made a mark on the team as a rookie, rushing for 973 yards and seven touchdowns, but his production fell off in his sophomore season. He ran for 3.9 yards per carry in two seasons in St. Louis.
Stacy may have gotten more than he bargained for, as he joins a crowded New York backfield with Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell, Daryl Richardson, Stevan Ridley.
The pick acquired by the Rams originally belonged to the Chicago Bears. St. Louis used that pick to select Bryce Hager, a linebacker out of Baylor.
