The decision on whether an NHL franchise will become a reality in Las Vegas could come sooner rather than later.
Mark Prows - MGM Resorts International's senior vice president of Arenas - said the NHL's Board of Governors will vote on a Las Vegas franchise bid in September, reports Alan Snel of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Prows continued by saying the board will “socialize” with Bill Foley - who is leading the charge to acquire an NHL franchise in Las Vegas - during its June meeting in Las Vegas.
The formal vote on the proposal for expansion into Las Vegas will then take place when the board next meets in September.
