Dana White on Jon Jones: 'This one was his last chance'

For all of Jon Jones' preternatural abilities inside the cage, the former UFC light heavyweight champion just can't seem to piece it altogether once he's removed his four oz. gloves.

In 2012, Jones was cited for driving with a suspended license, and several months later arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Earlier this year, the pound-for-pound great tested positive for cocaine metabolites in an out-of-competition test prior to his bout with Daniel Cormier at UFC 182. Because WADA doesn't ban out-of-competition use of cocaine, Jones was allowed to fight as scheduled.

Jones' latest brush with the law - an alleged hit-and-run accident where the victim was a pregnant woman who suffered a fractured arm - was the straw that finally broke the camel's back, according to UFC president Dana White.

"A lot of people know, Jon's had a lot of chances," White said on ESPN's SportsNation, according to MMAFighting.com's Shaun Al-Shatti. "This one was his last chance. He's got to handle his business outside of the Octagon and then we'll see where he goes from there."

The details of the alleged incident involve a man of Jones' description fleeing the scene on foot, while the police found marijuana and documents containing Jones' name inside the crashed vehicle.

After Jones' arrest, the UFC handed him an indefinite suspension, and stripped him of the light heavyweight title.

"Obviously he's one of our biggest stars," White said. "He was on his way to becoming one of the greatest ever, and he's got some legal problems he's got to deal with now. So we suspended him, stripped him of the title, and he's got some work to do outside of the sport. Then we'll decide when he comes back."
