Capitals' Fehr will miss Game 1 vs. Rangers due to upper-body injury

Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Capitals enter the second round with Eric Fehr still on the sidelines.

The forward, injured during Game 3 against the New York Islanders on April 19, will not be available to play against the New York Rangers on Thursday.

Fehr remains listed as day-to-day, and while head coach Barry Trotz indicated he wouldn't make the trip for Game 1, the close proximity between the two cities doesn't necessarily rule out a Game 2 appearance.

He recorded two shots on goal in three playoff games after registering 19 goals and 33 points in 75 regular-season games.
