Getzlaf, Perry help Ducks bully smaller Flames in Game 1 win

The Anaheim Ducks completely tore apart a helpless Calgary Flames squad in Game 1 of their second-round playoff series, taking the opener 6-1.

The Ducks used their physical prowess to bully the smaller Flames squad, forcing Jiri Hudler and Micheal Ferland out of the game in the process.

Star Performer: Leave it up to the captain to come out and lead his squad in the first game of the series.

Ryan Getzlaf recorded four points (1 G, 3 A) in the win.

Corey Perry also had four points in the contest, but his lack of poise early  - taking two penalties in the first period - allowed Getzlaf to pull away in this category.

Turning Point: Frederik Andersen made a glorious save early in the game stopping Josh Jooris on a breakway attempt.

The save allowed the Ducks to slow down the game and pound the Flames into submission.

Goalie comparison: It wasn't the type of return to Anaheim Jonas Hiller was hoping for as he was yanked in the second period after allowing three goals on 14 shots.

Karri Ramo replaced Hiller and didn't fare much better allowing three goals on 21 shots, which led to Fred Brathwaite catcalls from the Anaheim crowd.

Andersen was solid for the Ducks, making 23 saves.

Goalie Shots GA Saves SV%
Andersen 24 1 23 .958
Hiller 14 3 11 .786
Ramo 21 3 18 .857

Top Highlight: Kyle Palmieri showed some wizardry with a beautiful no-look pass to Matt Beleskey to give the Ducks an early 2-0 first period lead.

After the Game 1 loss, the Flames have lost 20 straight at Honda Center including playoffs.
