Alex Ovechkin opens up scoring in Game 7, but Capitals fall in overtime

The superstar sniper opened the scoring in Game 7 - a contest he vowed the Washington Capitals would win - by taking a gorgeous backhand saucer pass from Marcus Johansson and beating New York Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist on the near post.

The Rangers won 2-1 in overtime, with Derek Stepan scoring the winner, sending Ovechkin and the Capitals home.
