NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says the NFL still doesn't have a timeframe for the release of Ted Wells's investigation into the New England Patriots' "Deflategate" scandal but expects the report to be released soon.

"I expect it will not be long," Goodell said Tuesday in an interview with Charlie Rose on "CBS This Morning."

"You want to make sure you have all the information," he added. "What we’re trying to do is just make sure we're thorough."

The incident occurred just shy of 100 days ago and the long delay in releasing the report has been widely mocked among NFL media.

Goodell hinted at why the investigation is taking so long, saying Wells's team is trying to determine if deflated balls were used not only in the AFC Championship but also in previous games.
