Eagles linebackers Kendricks, Smith rumored to be on trading block

A pair of reports out of Philadelphia suggest Eagles linebackers Mychal Kendricks and Marcus Smith could be on the trading block.

The former is staying away from voluntary workouts as he vacations in Costa Rica. As Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer writes, that's not necessarily proof that Kendricks is on the outs with his team, but it suggests there's trouble brewing.

The Eagles' offseason moves at linebacker – retaining DeMeco Ryans and acquiring Kiko Alonso via trade – certainly support the notion that Kendricks is expendable.

As for Smith, the Eagles' first-round pick only a year ago, Mark Eckel of NJ.com cites a source with knowledge of the situation as saying the Eagles could attempt to use Smith in a deal to move up in the draft.

Smith was a massive disappointment as a rookie, getting on the field for only 68 plays in six of 16 games.
