Chelsea midfielder Oscar was forced to leave Sunday's match against Arsenal with an apparent head injury following a first-half collision with David Ospina.

The Brazilian international suffered the injury within the first 20 minutes and went on to play the rest of the half after crashing into the Arsenal 'keeper. He was replaced by Didier Drogba at halftime.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho revealed that Oscar was on his way to a local hospital to receive treatment, according to Sky Sports.

Television images showed disturbing pictures of Oscar, with the Brazilian appearing to be disoriented in the moments after impact.

Surprisingly, Chelsea's medical staff assessed the midfielder on the sidelines and determined he was fit to continue playing for an additional 30 minutes before the break.

It's yet another questionable decision by the staff concerning head injuries. A similar knock occurred earlier in the season, when Thibaut Courtois appeared to be concussed against Arsenal following a collision with Alexis Sanchez.

The Belgian 'keeper was allowed to play momentarily before being removed in favour of Petr Cech.
