Tennessee WR named as suspect in rape investigation; suspended indefinitely
Tennessee wide receiver Von Pearson has been named as a suspect in an alleged rape, according to the Knoxville Police Department, which said in a statement that the 23-year-old was identified by the victim.
On April 24th, 2015 at 6:00am, the Knoxville Police Department was alerted to an alleged rape which reportedly occurred at University Walk Apartments, 2308 Forest Ave. During the initial investigation, KPD investigators took statements from the victim, several witnesses, and alerted the Sexual Assault Center. Pearson has since been suspended indefinitely by the program, Tennessee associate athletic director Jimmy Stanton told the Patrick Brown of the Times Free Press.
Pearson caught 38 passes for 393 yards and five touchdowns as a junior.
