Greg Jennings on signing with Dolphins: 'I'm into winning ballgames'

Greg Jennings signed with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, where he's expected to immediately take on a leadership role with a young, talented offense.

Jennings was the Minnesota Vikings' leading receiver in 2014, recording 59 receptions for 742 yards and six touchdowns.

However, Jennings downplayed the importance of amassing glossy numbers entering the 2015 campaign.

"I care about winning," Jennings said Thursday via ESPN's James Walker. "I'm not into statistics. I'm not into leading the team in whatever category. I'm into winning ballgames and trying to help my team win by being a part of what we have going on."

One of Jennings' most memorable performances was in the Green Bay Packers' Super Bowl victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010, where he caught two touchdowns.

Going into his 10th season, Jennings said he was willing to move back outside, after being used primarily in the slot with the Vikings.

"I would love to go outside," Jennings said. "Coach (Joe) Philbin, he knows what I can do outside. When it comes to what my stats were this past year, the way (Vikings offensive coordinator) Norv (Turner) wanted to use me was more in the slot. That was Norv's system. That is how Norv saw me."

In a much-improved AFC East, Jennings will embrace a leadership role with the upstart Dolphins in their quest to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
