The Lob City moniker has been done to death, but there's a pretty good reason.
On no other team but the Los Angeles Clippers can one toss the basketball from just about anywhere on the floor, almost anywhere in the vicinity of the rim, and realistically expect it to be caught and thrown violently through the hoop.
In Game 2 of their first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs, it was Jamal Crawford firing a pass almost from midcourt, and Blake Griffin burning an unsuspecting Boris Diaw with a roll before finishing the alley-oop with emphasis.
