Bosse hopes Rampage can't compete at UFC 186

Scott Coker and Bellator brass weren't the only ones deeply disappointed in Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's sudden return to this weekend's UFC 186 card in Montreal.

Steve Bosse, the man originally tabbed to replace Jackson against Fabio Maldonado, is still hoping to step into the cage Saturday night. 

"Right now I'm not fighting," Bosse, a former hockey player, told MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani. "But I stay focused because we never know. Maybe Bellator will come back to put the injunction on, and if they do this, I come back in the cage Saturday night." 

Earlier this month, a New Jersey judge granted Bellator a preliminary injunction preventing Jackson from competing at UFC 186. Jackson appealed the decision, and the injunction was overturned by a New Jersey Superior Court judge Tuesday night.

"I hope so," Bosse said when asked if he hopes Bellator wins another injunction. "Bellator did a big job to pull out Rampage, I'm sure they'll come back strong to keep Rampage out."

Though it's unlikely Bosse will face Maldonado on Saturday, the UFC will still reportedly pay him his show money.
