The shot had eyes.
Nicklas Backstrom got his Washington Capitals back into the series against the New York Islanders Tuesday with an overtime winner on a shot from far out.
The 27-year-old gathered the puck at the Islanders goal-line, curled up to the blue line and let a wrist shot go that beat Jaroslav Halak, who seemed stunned on the play.
With his third goal of the series and a helper on Alex Ovechkin's first period marker, Backstrom now has six points in four games.
The series is now tied 2-2 as the teams head back to Washington for Game 5 on Thursday.
