Blue Jays' Encarnacion launches solo shot into upper deck at Rogers Centre

Edwin Encarnacion's beloved parrot got a pretty thorough workout Tuesday night in Toronto.

Though he entered Tuesday's contest hitting just .132 with no home runs over his previous 10 games, Encarnacion emphatically ended his early-season slump with a pair of solo shots in his club's series opener against the Baltimore Orioles - the second of which ended up in the sparsely populated fifth deck at Rogers Centre.

Encarnacion's second blast of the evening thrust him into exclusive company too, as the 32-year-old became just the third player to launch a home run into the upper deck at Rogers Centre (nee: Skydome) more than once.

Encarnacion's 15th multi-homer game in a Blue Jays uniform also moved him into a three-way tie with George Bell and Jesse Barfield for the fourth-most in franchise history.
