'Highly disrespected' Weddle wants new deal from Chargers

You can add Eric Weddle's name to the list of players not present at voluntary workouts.

The San Diego Chargers' safety wants a new deal, according to Kevin Acee of U-T San Diego.

Of course, these workouts are voluntary and Chargers fans should only panic if he isn't around during training camp, but Weddle's message to San Diego was clear.

"I feel highly, highly disrespected," Weddle said. "It is what it is, but there is no reason for me to put out any more effort."

Weddle insists he wants to retire a Charger, and the three-time Pro Bowler and two-time, first-team All Pro is frustrated that the organization hasn't conveyed their interest in an extension.

"We've come to them numerous times and said we want to be part of the team, we want to retire as a Charger," Weddle said. "We've completely gotten pushed aside."

The 30-year-old is heading into the final year of his deal and unless something changes, Weddle could be wearing a different uniform in 2016.
