Vikings' Charles Johnson among 300 strangers to attend girl's birthday party

When Jenny Moretter posted a Facebook message inviting her friends and their children to her daughter Mackenzie's 10th birthday party, she was hoping a handful of them would attend.

She certainly wasn't expecting 300 strangers - including Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Charles Johnson - to show up, but that's exactly what happened.

Mackenzie was diagnosed with Sotos Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, when she was one. Her dad, Matthew Moretter, told Adrienne Broaddus of KARE11 that doctors discovered her condition after a tumor fused to her spine.

"It causes gigantism where kids grow at a faster pace. So Mackenzie is a lot taller than other classmates," he said. "Kids are friendly to her, but she doesn't have friends. No one calls and talks to her. I'll show up at her school and she will be playing alone."

After all of the invited guests turned down their invitations, Jenny Moretter made an emotional plea on Facebook in an effort to salvage Mackenzie's party.

Along with Johnson and his family, attendees included Elsa from the movie "Frozen," Shakopee, Minn. mayor Brad Tabke and members of the town's fire department.

Johnson tweeted a thank-you message to Mackenzie and her family Saturday following the party:
