Report: Jay Ajayi's knee a real concern for several teams

Boise State running back Jay Ajayi has been projected to go as high as the second round in the upcoming NFL draft, but the results of a re-check of his knee have several teams concerned, according to Dane Brugler of CBS Sports.

Ajayi suffered a significant knee injury in 2011, and the main concern surrounds longevity, not his ability to play right away. He played in three straight seasons at Boise State since suffering the injury and was extremely productive, particularly last season.

Ajayi's agent, Erik Burkhardt, tweeted Monday that his client did not, nor was he asked to, attend the NFL's medical re-check in Indianapolis. However, as Brugler later clarified, Ajayi's knee issues were discovered during team visits, not at the medical re-check.

There's no indication on how much this will hurt Ajayi's draft stock, but if he falls until the later rounds, it will be because of the knee concerns, not talent.
