Bankrupt Parma deducted another 4 points for breaching financial regulations

Parma will be relegated this season after a deduction of four points effectively ended their slim hopes of surviving the drop.

An Italian court recently declared Parma as bankrupt in a 10-minute hearing, and the club had already been penalised three points earlier in the campaign for breaching financial regulations.

Left with only 12 points through 30 Serie A fixtures, Parma now have no chance of emerging from the relegation zone despite a shocking 1-0 win over top-of-the-table Juventus on Saturday.

As reported by the Guardian, Parma are £72 million in debt and appear to have two options going forward. Option No. 1: Find a new owner who can pay off their debts. Option No. 2: Begin again in the fourth division of Italian football under a new name.
