Aaron Hernandez jurors to continue deliberations for 7th day
FALL RIVER, Mass. - The 12 people working to decide whether to convict former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez are set to resume deliberations for a seventh day.
Jurors have deliberated nearly 35 hours since last week. They are scheduled to be back in court at 9 a.m. Wednesday to continue their work.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the June 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was found shot to death in an industrial park less than a mile from Hernandez's home. Lloyd was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.
If convicted of 1st-degree murder, Hernandez would be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. If convicted of 2nd-degree murder, he would be sentenced to life with the possibility of parole after 15 years.
The verdict must be unanimous.
