Lakers' Buycks out for season after breaking hand Sunday
Dwight Buycks's late-season audition with the Los Angeles Lakers came to a disappointing end on Sunday, as the 26-year-old guard suffered a right hand fracture against the Dallas Mavericks and has been ruled out for the team's final two games.
Buycks, who averaged 8.7 points, 2.3 assists and two rebounds on an Effective Field Goal Percentage of 53.8 through six games with the Lakers, was expected to sign a second 10-day contract with the team before this setback.
The injury, therefore, is more costly to him than a mid-April ailment usually is for a player on a lottery team.
Buycks's injury also leaves the Lakers with only two healthy guards for Monday's game against the Sacramento Kings, as an assortment of injuries have sidelined the majority of the team's other back-court players.
