Phil on Fire: Mickelson matches Woods, McIlroy with blazing front 9
Michael Madrid / USA TODAY Sports
Phil Mickelson is making a run.
"Lefty" matched Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy with four birdies on zero bogeys to card a front-nine 32 and move four shots back of the lead at 10-under heading into the turn.
His blazing nine has him up four positions on the leaderboard and closing in quickly on Jordan Spieth, who's treading water to start his Saturday round.
The three-time winner is the only player in the top five with ownership on a green jacket.
