Report: Johnny Manziel released from drug and alcohol treatment facility

Johnny Manziel appears set to rejoin the Cleveland Browns for the club's offseason workout program.

After over two months spent in rehabilitation, Manziel has now reportedly been released from a drug and alcohol treatment facility, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Though Manziel will certainly still have work to do both on and off the field if he is to live up to expectations, the extensive time spent in rehab can only be taken as a positive toward his chances of doing so.

As the Browns roster currently stands, the 22-year-old is set to compete with veteran signal caller Josh McCown for the starting job. Of course, the Browns' multiple first-round picks could also put them in position to target a quarterback in the upcoming draft.

Either way, Manziel now enters the most important stretch of his young career, in which he'll be looking to prove to the Browns organization that he is indeed capable of leading a team at the NFL level.

Coming off a disastrous rookie campaign, the Browns will be looking for him to show some progression as soon as the team opens its offseason program April 20.
