Chris Humphreys / USA TODAY Sports

Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib is under investigation for aggravated assault, Rebecca Lopez of WFAA-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth reports.

Dallas police sources say Talib and his brother are being investigated after an incident at a nightclub early Wednesday morning. Two vehicles associated with the pair are reportedly being searched for evidence.

The police department issued a statement in response to media inquiries about Talib's alleged role in the incident:

On March 8, 2015, at approximately 2:09 a.m., officers responded to a call regarding an active shooter on foot in the 700 block of North Pearl Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the complainant who was working at the location. According to the initial report, the complainant stated there was a disturbance inside the location between three Black males. The complainant stated he attempted to quell the disturbance by assisting security in escorting the individuals out of the bar, at which time one of the individuals attempted to punch the complainant. The complainant stated he attempted to defend himself by kicking one of the possible assailants. The complainant stated as they reached the front of the location someone produced a gun and pointed it at him. The complainant closed the door and took cover inside the bar. Witnesses outside the location observed a Black male outside, fire a round into the air, which caused an immediate panic. All of the involved individuals left the location. This is an ongoing investigation at this time. Detectives are actively attempting to identify and interview all parties involved.

In 2014, Dallas police reported the arrest of Aqib Talib but later admitted it was actually his brother, Yaqub.
