Martin Odegaard is regarded as the future of Real Madrid, but he's reportedly struggling to settle in with the club's B side, Real Madrid Castilla.

The 16-year-old prodigy, who was officially unveiled at the Santiago Bernabeu in January, watched Castilla's last two fixtures from the confines of the bench, inevitably raising an eyebrow or two.

According to Spanish daily AS, there's a very good reason for the demotion, as Odegaard is apparently not adapting his game to his teammates and is refusing to train with the club's reserve players, only joining them for training sessions on the eve of matches.

Castilla manager and French football icon Zinedine Zidane first relegated Odeegard to the bench for his side's 5-1 win over Las Palmas Atletico, and did so again for their 2-0 victory at Conquense. Coincidentally, the two wins ended Castilla's four-game losing streak.

A reported clause in Odegaard's contract states that he must train with Real Madrid's senior squad at least five times a week, something that the teenager and his father are apparently using as a counterargument towards Castilla's coaching staff, who have called meetings with the youngster and his parent.

Furthermore, AS reports that teammates of Odegaard have complained that he "can't be bothered" at Castilla, as his focus is on playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

A 16-year-old who's only interested in playing with Ronaldo? That doesn't sound surprising by any means.
