The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are trying to beef up their defensive line.

Tampa signed Detroit Lions defensive end George Johnson to an offer sheet on Tuesday. Johnson is a restricted free agent that the Lions placed a low-round tender on, meaning they would get no compensation if they decide not to match the offer in the next five days.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports is reporting the offer sheet is for three years and worth $9 million.

Johnson, who played for the Bucs during the first three years of his career, posted a respectable six sacks for the Lions in 2014.

The Bucs are looking for help in the pass rushing department, after releasing defensive end Michael Johnson earlier this offseason.
