Sweat, snap hooks, outbursts and emphatic fist pumps.

All that and the Tiger Woods of old, charging up the leaderboard at Augusta National.

Woods fired a 4-under 68 Saturday afternoon, turning in a scorecard with six birdies and two bogeys that reads a shot off the low round in the clubhouse.

His playful demeanor changed following a terrific start that saw him record three consecutive birdies through holes 2 to 4. His belief was real, and his emotion became much more intense.

But with that came a dip in his performance. He birdied another on 8 before the turn, but started missing his spots and fought to remain at even-par on the back nine.

Woods's 68 is his best round at the Masters since a 67 on the Sunday of the 2011 tournament, but he'll be well off the lead when he dons the red on Sunday.
