Duke's Krzyzewki on Jones' circus shot: 'I wanted to break his neck'
Duke guard Tyus Jones took over for the Blue Devils in the second half of Monday night's 68-63 national championship victory over Wisconsin.
Jones scored 19 of his game-high 23 points in the game's final 20 minutes, though there was one shot head coach Mike Krzyzewski didn't care for at all.
"We scored. I mean, we were fabulous down the stretch," Krzyzewski said, according to the university's official atheltics site. "I mean, I don't know how you can be any better than we were down the stretch, except Tyus going in for that layup when he should have taken it to the side, and I wanted to break his neck. Other than that, yeah, great, great stuff."
Coach Krzyzewski's comments were, of course, made tongue-in-cheek.
Here's a look at the shot by Jones which will go down as one of the great shots of the tournament - even if Coach Krzyzewski didn't care for it at the time.
