Washington Capitals defenseman Tom Wilson left the game against the Detroit Red Wings Sunday after taking a slapshot to the head.
Wilson slid to block a point shot by Danny Dekeyser late in the third period and took the puck to the back of his head.
He was helped off the ice by the training staff and taken off for concussion protocol.
Wilson has 4 goals and 17 points in 67 games.
