Scott: Lakers' Young likely done for season
The limp to the finish in the Los Angeles Lakers' worst season in six decades will apparently be Swaggy-free.
Coach Byron Scott said Saturday that swingman Nick Young will likely miss the remainder of the season. It comes as little surprise, as Young has not played since Feb. 22 due to a small fracture of his left kneecap.
The 36.6 percent-shooting Young - known better this season for his comic relief and girlfriend Iggy Azalea than for his basketball efficiency - became the Lakers' de facto leading scorer when Kobe Bryant went down.
Young had been holding out hope for a return this season, but with nothing to play for, there is little for the Lakers to gain by putting him back on the floor.
The most successful franchise in NBA history has seven games left in the season and would need to win all of them just to tie last year's dismal record, the worst since the franchise arrived in L.A. from Minneapolis in 1960.
