Tiger Woods shoots practice round in potential Masters tuneup
Tiger Woods reportedly shot a 2-over 74 during a practice round at Augusta National on Tuesday, fueling speculation that golf's former No. 1 player is ready to return to action after a two-month layoff.
Woods, who hasn't played competitively since withdrawing from the Farmers Insurance Open in February, performed to mixed results in the session, according to Jim McCabe of Golfweek.
Playing alongside two other members, he made five birdies but apparently struggled with his short game, making several subpar chip shots and finding himself in the bunker on at least one occasion.
The 39-year-old has yet to announce whether he'll compete at next week's Masters, an event he's won four times. He was scheduled to participate in another practice round Friday.
