Shortly after being released from the Oakland Raiders, quarterback Matt Schaub appears to be generating some significant interest on the free-agent market.
The 11-year veteran is expected to join another team at some point this week, with the New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens and Atlanta Falcons among those showing interest thus far, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Baltimore is expected to meet with Schaub early this week, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun.
Wilson also notes the Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans have also shown interest.
Schaub saw his successful run as the Houston Texans' starting quarterback come to an end after a disastrous 2013 campaign, and he was unable to hold off then-rookie Derek Carr in a competition for the Raiders' starting job in 2014.
Despite his struggles and an apparent rapid decline, Schaub could represent a solid option at the back-up spot for each of the three teams reported to have interest.
Having spent the first three seasons of his career backing up Michael Vick in Atlanta, Schaub returning to the Falcons in the same role behind Matt Ryan would be a particularly intriguing fit.
