Dodgers' Ryu prescribed 2 weeks rest after MRI reveals no structural damage

The Los Angeles Dodgers avoided a serious injury with left-hander Hyun-jin Ryu, but they aren't out of the woods yet. 

Ryu was shut down from his throwing program last week after experiencing discomfort in his left shoulder and an MRI revealed no structural damage. Doctors prescribed rest and rehab for two weeks before being reevaluated. 

While the diagnosis is a relief for the Dodgers, it's worrisome that Ryu is dealing with the same injury that kept him out almost a month last season. 

When healthy, Ryu provides the Dodgers with an exceptional No. 3 starter. In 152 innings last season, he went 14-7 with a 3.38 ERA and 139 strikeouts.
