Coyotes give Sean Burke permission to speak with other teams
Sean Burke looks set to cash in on his reclamation project.
The Arizona Coyotes have granted the goaltending coach and assistant to the general manager permission to seek upper managerial roles elsewhere, Burke confirmed with FOX Sports Arizona.
Burke has been applauded for his work with now Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk, helping him recapture elite form in his time with the Coyotes earlier this year.
"Right from the get-go, he just put so much confidence in me. There's no words, it's not like he pumps your tires every day, it's just the unspoken, you know he's got your back, you know he believes in you and you know he'll go to bat for you," Dubnyk told NHL.com last month.
Burke also served on the management team that helped Canada break its five-year drought at the 2015 World Junior Hockey Championship.
He won 324 games in parts of 18 seasons before joining the Coyotes' staff in 2009.
