Dana White: 'We're going to support' Anderson Silva no matter what happens at NAC hearing

Anderson Silva has an ally in UFC president Dana White.

With Silva set to go before the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) sometime in April after failing multiple drug tests before and after his bout against Nick Diaz at UFC 183, White has vowed to support the former middleweight champion no matter the outcome.

"Anderson has been a huge part of this company and regardless of how this thing comes out, we're going to support the guy," White told reporters following UFC Fight Night 62 on Saturday.

Silva tested positive for the steroids androstane and drostanolone, along with the anti-anxiety medications Oxazepam and Temazepam. There were rumors floating around that "The Spider" would be handed an 18-month suspension for the failed tests, but White isn't believing anything he hears at this point.

"He's going to go before the Nevada Athletic Commission and I have no idea what's going to happen," White said. "I know there were some rumors down here that he's only going to get 18 months. I don't believe that's true and I don’t know how anyone would know anything like that. That's just a rumor. We'll see what happens when he goes before the commission."
