Each day of the NCAA tournament theScore's staff will highlight the biggest games and best matchups that deserve to get your attention. We will let you know when to watch and where you can tune in.

3 games to watch

East Region: No. 7 Michigan State vs. No. 2 Virginia, 12:10 p.m. ET on CBS

Virginia promises its opponents a slow-paced game and a stifling defense. However, the Cavaliers lack the ability to knock down shots, as it took Virginia almost the entire game to pull away from Belmont in the Round of 64.

Michigan State is the model of perseverance on the court. The Spartans had four players reach double-digit points against Georgia, and they should rely heavily on Denzel Valentine's shooting. He was 6-for-6 from the line in the last 27 seconds in Friday's victory over Georgia to bail them out of trouble.

Midwest Region: No. 7 Wichita State vs. No. 2 Kansas, 5:15 p.m. ET on CBS

With the Shockers and the Jayhawks failing to play each other since 1993, the storyline for this game writes itself.

Wichita State boasts a stout defense, holding opponents to just 56.4 points. The Shockers may not be the strongest shooting team from the field, but get the job done in free throws, led by Fred VanFleet's 79.1-percent from the line.

Kansas dominated New Mexico State on its way to the Round of 32 by playing unselfish ball. Frank Mason II led the way with 17 points while five others pitched in with at least eight. The Jayhawks can depend on their dynamic duo of Mason and Perry Ellis against the Shockers, as each averages more than 12 points.

East Region: No. 5 Northern Iowa vs. No. 4 Louisville, 9:40 p.m. ET on TBS

It's easy to see why Northern Iowa is considered the mid-major team with the best chance at a deep tournament run. The Panthers have mastered the art of a smothering defense, limiting opponents to 54.3 points. Northern Iowa's offense benefits from its variety of talented shooters, highlighted by Seth Tuttle shooting an ultra-efficient 61.6 percent from the field. Five players posted double-digits, and the bench outscored Wyoming's 41-2 in the Round of 64.

Louisville's bitter battle for victory against UC Irvine brought out the best in Wayne Blackshear and Quentin Snider, who led the Cards to the next round. Montrezl Harrell may not have had a big game points-wise, but expect him to activate beastmode against the Panthers. Head coach Rick Pitino promised his team - ranking top-20 nationally in points allowed, blocks and steals - has gotten past its tournament jitters and will play better against the Panthers.

Matchup to watch

Virginia G Justin Anderson vs. Michigan State G Denzel Valentine

Justin Anderson is still getting his groove back after missing eight games due to injury. As the team's second-leading scorer, Anderson's ability to shoot 80-percent from the line could be the winning difference for Virginia.

Denzel Valentine, second on Michigan State in scoring, isn't afraid to hammer the basket. Despite often getting caught because of his risky passes, he redeems himself by hitting crucial shots that seal the deal for the Spartans.
