Pelicans' Davis, Asik out Friday vs. Warriors; Evans will play

The New Orleans Pelicans caught a break on Friday when it was announced that Kevin Durant is out indefinitely for the Oklahoma City Thunder, but that's about where the breaks end for New Orleans.

The Pelicans, who trail the Thunder by one game in the chase for the Western Conference's final playoff spot, will be without Anthony Davis against the league-leading Golden State Warriors on Friday, reports Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.

Center Omer Asik is also out with a calf injury, reports John Reid of NOLA.com.

Tyreke Evans, who is battling a tweaked ankle, will play, reports Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.

Davis rolled his ankle in Thursday's shootaround and sat out the ensuing game against the Phoenix Suns, while Evans tweaked his ankle in Thursday's loss and remains questionable.

With starting point guard Jrue Holiday (knee) and reserve sharpshooter Ryan Anderson (knee) also still sidelined, it's possible the Pelicans enter Friday's game without five of their top-six rotation players.
