Maryland lands top-10 2015 recruit Diamond Stone

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

It's been a good couple of days for the 2015-16 Maryland Terrapins.

Not only is potentially NBA-bound guard Melo Trimble returning for a sophomore season, but they made a late addition to their 2015 recruiting class on Friday.

Consensus top-10 prospect and No. 2-ranked center by 247Sports composite ranking Diamond Stone has committed to the program.

Not only does Stone have perhaps the greatest name of all time, he's a major addition for Maryland. A 6-foot-10 18-year-old from Milwaukee, Stone is considered a five-star recruit by every major outlet and was the third-highest ranked recruit still uncommitted for 2015.

A potential top-five pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Stone should push Maryland into the top-40 in terms of incoming recruit classes, as he joins three-star point guard Jaylen Brantley on the way in.

Maryland was a four-seed in the NCAA tournament, losing in the Round of 32 to finish the season with a 28-7 record.
