Duke becomes 3rd school to win 100 tournament games

Evan Pike-USA TODAY Sports

Duke didn't just shake off some recent NCAA tournament demons on Friday.

In defeating Robert Morris 85-56, Duke not only advanced to the Round of 32 for a date with San Diego State, the Blue Devils also made history, becoming just the third school to win 100 games in the NCAA tournament.

But as an admitted UCLA fan, this raised my eyebrows. UCLA definitely has 100 tournament wins, right?

As it turns out, they do. Thursday marked their 103rd, but they were forced to vacate wins from 1980, when they went all the way to the national championship game, after two players were found to be ineligible. So they have 100, too, kind of, but not really.

This is about Duke, so let's double back to them. They're now 100-34 all-time, a higher winning percentage than UCLA, UNC or Kentucky. Their 74.6 percent tournament winning percentage is the highest all-time.

Duke is also tied for fifth with four national championships, well behind Kentucky's eight and UCLA's 11
