The Carolina Panthers have reportedly made a one-year, $2-million offer to free-agent cornerback Alan Ball, according to Aaron Wilson of The National Football Post.

Initial reports suggested that Ball had accepted the deal, but as Wilson indicates, the cornerback is still weighing his options around the league.

Ball has spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars over the course of his eight-year career, starting 44 of 93 games and tallying six interceptions.

While the 29-year-old would have the opportunity to compete for a starting role in the Panthers' defensive backfield, he'd provide some much-needed veteran depth at the very least.
