The Toronto Raptors escaped past the Minnesota Timberwolves with a victory Wednesday as point guard Kyle Lowry watched from the locker room.

Lowry suffered a back contusion during the third quarter after taking a hard spill on a drive to the basket. He was in visible pain following the foul and left the game seconds later without returning.

The first-time All-Star was moving gingerly after the contest and didn't speak to reporters. Coming off a triple-double to lead the Raptors past the Indiana Pacers on Monday, Lowry had nine points, six assists and three rebounds before exiting.

Toronto gutted out a 105-100 victory to spoil Andrew Wiggins' homecoming to Canada. The 2014 No. 1 overall pick had 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field with three rebounds.

Lowry entered the night averaging a career-high 18.2 points and leads the team in assists and steals. His next chance to play comes Friday versus the Chicago Bulls.
