Nazem Kadri suspended 4 games for head shot on Oilers' Matt Fraser
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri has been suspended four games for an illegal check to the head of Edmonton Oilers forward Matt Fraser.
Kadri, a repeat offender under the league's collective bargaining agreement, made principal contact with Fraser's head, arriving from the blindside, in a play in Monday's contest in Edmonton.
Fraser suffered a concussion on the play, an injury that likely played a role in earning the Maple Leaf a lengthy ban.
Kadri was suspended for three games last season for his part in a collision with Minnesota Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom.
