The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has handed former Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko an indefinite suspension after he tested positive for an elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio following his victory over Melvin Manhoef at Bellator 133.

Shlemenko was also fined $2,500, and his win over Manhoef has been turned into a no contest, CSAC executive officer Andy Foster told MMAFighting.com.

The 30-year-old Russian, who lost the middleweight title to Brandon Halsey at Bellator 126 in September, marked his return to the promotion with a spectacular spinning backfist knockout of Manhoef on Feb. 13.
