Flyers' Read leaves team to be with expecting wife

The Philadelphia Flyers' charter has gained an empty seat. 

Forward Matt Read is headed back to Philadelphia - leaving the team amid travels to the West Coast - to be with his wife, who's expecting the birth of their child.

A timeline for his return to the team hasn't yet been established. 

Read has seven goals and 27 points and has appeared in all 71 games to date.
