Irving leads Cavs to easy win over Magic

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Kyrie Irving followed up his career-high 57-point performance with another monster game.

The four-time All-Star drained 12-of-15 shots from the field for a game-high 33 points to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 123-108 victory over the Orlando Magic on Sunday.

LeBron James flirted with a triple-double, scoring 21 points while adding 13 assists and eight rebounds to help the Cavaliers extend their winning streak to four games. He did tweak his right knee, though, and was set to receive treatment after the game.

The victory moved Cleveland three games ahead of the Chicago Bulls for first place in the Central Division with 14 contests remaining in the season.

Cleveland has come on strong after a sluggish start, winning 24 of its last 29 games to jump into second place in the Eastern Conference.

Irving hit 5-of-6 from long range, a game after going a perfect 7-of-7 from beyond the arc en route to setting a Cavaliers single-game scoring record. He's shot 32-of-47 from the field over the last two contests while going off for 90 points.

Irving and James got some help from sharpshooter J.R. Smith, who was deadly from downtown, hitting 6-of-11 shots in a 25-point effort.

The Cavaliers will look to make it five in a row Monday when they visit the Miami Heat. It will mark James' second game back in Miami since leaving the Heat for Cleveland during the offseason. Miami beat the Cavaliers 101-91 on Christmas Day.

Orlando was led by Nikola Vucevic, who had 22 points and 15 rebounds in the loss. Victor Oladipo - who threw down a hard dunk on Matthew Dellavedova - chipped in with 25 points and seven assists, while Tobias Harris scored 24 and hauled in eight rebounds.
