Nuggets to rest Arthur, Chandler, Foye on Sunday

David Richard / USA TODAY Sports

Not that they necessarily have anything to keep their guys fresh forbut the Denver Nuggets, perhaps emboldened by a 5-2 record since the firing of head coach Brian Shaw, appear to be adopting a playoff team's mentality.

The Nuggets will rest three regulars Sunday when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans, sitting power forward Darrell Arthur, small forward Wilson Chandler and shooting guard Randy Foye.

Arthur has been dealing with a nagging calf strain, while Chandler has had some knee soreness, according to Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post. The injuries are minor and the purpose of their being held out is primarily for rest.

The Nuggets have won three straight games, with their last two coming against the Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks and West-leading (though admittedly shorthanded) Golden State Warriors
