With a glaring pass-rush need, it was reported that the Oakland Raiders were showing interest in free-agent defensive end Greg Hardy, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

However, owner Mark Davis has denied those claims.

"False, falser and falsest," Davis told Tim Kawakami of the Mercury News. "That is not true."

Hardy's pure talent warrants the interest, as he's established himself as one of the NFL's most disruptive edge players over his five-year career, but his off-field concerns have to be considered as well.

Domestic violence charges saw the 26-year-old play in just one game in 2014, and he's currently on the commissioner's exempt list with the possibility of further league discipline looming.

Hardy's free-agent negotiations will likely begin to move forward when an official decision is made regarding a potential suspension.

Either way, teams showing interest will have some fairly extensive background work to do before they put any sort of long-term offer on the table for Hardy.
